  • The Proton system is used to analyze the DAX Performance Index®.
  • It follows for the Entry and exit a sophisticated mathematical technique in the field of artificial intelligence.

The logic of the system:

  • Proton continuously analyzes the Upside potential over the Downside potential of the DAX® and calculates probabilities for a successful trade on a view of 5 trading days.
  • The system closes each position after a maximum of 5 days holding time based on time.
  • To secure the position in both directions, there is a SAFETY STOP and a PROFIT PROTECTION.
  • An entry can be made on the long as well as on the short side.
  • If there is a signal (long or short) for the trading day, it is available online in the QUANT PORTAL of Traderama. The signal remains valid for the day.
  • This means that signals are not available every day. There are on average approx. 30 trades per year.
  • So you only need to start and end a trade 30 times

In the long term, the system clearly outperforms the DAX, while at the same time offering significantly lower volatility.

Proton can build up to 5 positions (long or short signals) in the same direction (pyramiding).
You decide with which derivatives you trade the signal (see list).

Capital investment

The PROTON system is a QUANT SYSTEM WITH CAP. The maximum number of positions held at any one time is limited. Thus, the capital investment is clearly determined. You will find the number of maximum positions in the description of the systems

The system is designed so that a position is closed after 5 days. This time-based EXIT rule almost always applies. In addition, there is a SECURITY STOP and a PROFIT SECURITY, which are valid within the 5 days but are rarely used. The thresholds are available in each description.

We will send you the buy signals with limit purchase price before the stock exchange opens. Simply only in the depot as limit order set and ready! The rules for the exit are already known before the entry and available in each description.

What does 5.8.3 mean?

  • 5 means: The system takes a maximum of 5 positions at the same time. There is only 1 signal per day.
  • 8 means: PROFIT SECURITY is 8% Plus on the entry price at the index
  • 3 means: SECURITY-STOP is 3% below the entry price at the index
  • There is 1 signal per day (if there is a signal). This is a daily limit buy or sell signal.
  • The system takes a maximum of 5 positions in one direction (max. 5 long or max. 5 short).
  • Exiting a position has three possibilities:
    • SAFETY STOP at -3%
    • PROFIT-SECURING at +8%
    • TIME-BASED Exit after 5 days holding period
  • Entry and exit orders are only valid during the main trading hours of the DAX(R) Performance Index (09:00 to 17:30).

Implementation of the signals

The Proton Quant opens the position with a limit order. The sale of the position, is done via a "Market" order. The time for the Time based closing of the position is already sent to you with the buy signal. You know when this position will be closed again. Each trade is completely plannable and defined from the beginning in all three directions (profit, loss, duration).

Since PROTON analyses the DAX Performance INDEX and this is an INDEX, each user of these signals can decide for himself with which instruments / derivatives the signals are to be traded.

  • DAX Future ®
  • DAX Mini Future ®
  • DAX CFDs
  • DAX leverage products (e.g. warrants, factor certificates, etc.)
  • DAX ETFs

NoteAlways consider the risks when using derivatives and make yourself knowledgeable. We only recommend this system to investors and traders who are familiar with the use of derivatives on the DAX. We have shown examples for selected derivatives for this system.

Entry and exit orders are only valid during the main trading hours of the DAX(R) Performance Index (09:00 to 17:30).

Implementation example with the DAX Mini Future (R)

The DAX Mini Future is the little brother to the "big" future contract" on the DAX. The point value is 5 euros. The overnight margin is approx. 4,000 Euro (please always check with the broker). We set the starting capital of the system to 25,000 euros and create the calculation for the implementation example on this basis.

  • Start-up capital: 25.000 Euro
  • Fixed stake per trade: 1 DAX Mini Future contract (= 5 Euro / DAX point) (long or short)
  • Maximum 5 contracts at the same time in one direction (long or short)

Key figures:

  • average annual return: 18.4%
  • Max. Drawdown: 24.2 %
  • Hit rate: 63.7 %
  • Time on market: 38%
  • average trading frequency: approx. every 8 days a signal
  • average number of trades per year: approx. 30
